Our Children's FutureRooted in Purpose

About Us

This Is What It Looks Like to Live on Purpose.

There are children everywhere who already know. Before the world teaches them to be practical. Before someone tells them their vision is too large for the life they were born into, they know. They feel the call. They carry the fire. Our Children's Future was built for those children. And for the adults who were once those children, who never stopped feeling it.

Who We Are

Rooted in Scripture. Built for Legacy.

We are a Kingdom first 501(c)(3) nonprofit rooted in Oxon Hill, Prince George's County, Maryland. We exist to empower families, youth, and community leaders to live intentionally, serve purposefully, and build a legacy the next generation can stand on.

Scripture is not our inspiration, it is our architecture. Dominion is not domination. It is responsibility. It is looking at the earth Yah entrusted to us, and the children Yah entrusted to us, and saying: we will not waste this.

What We Do

Hands On. Heart First.

We close the gap between purpose and practice, through two live in person offerings available throughout DC, MD, and VA: organic gardening workshops for children ages 3 to 15, and commUNITY Adventure field trips that connect families to the living world around them.

Everything is hands on, faith rooted, and designed not just to inform, but to transform.

THE LARGER VISION

Growing Food. Protecting Water. Building the Green Economy.

We are building a generation that does not wait for the world to change. They are the change, starting with the soil beneath their feet and building toward a future of collective prosperity that belongs to everyone who helped grow it.

Our larger vision is rooted in three pillars. Each one connected. Each one essential.

PILLAR ONE

Empowered Through O.G. — Organic Gardening.

Original. Grounded. Organic. Food sovereignty begins in the soil. When communities grow their own food without pesticides and without pollution they reclaim their health, their land, and their relationship to the earth. We begin this at age 3. By the time our youth reach adulthood they are not just consumers of the food system. They are architects of a better one. Organic gardening is the entry point into every skill, every mindset, and every career pathway we build.

PILLAR TWO

Protect Our Local Watershed.

What we put into the soil and into our communities does not stay here. It travels through Prince George’s County waterways into the Potomac River, into the Chesapeake Bay, and into the Atlantic Ocean. No pollution. No pesticides. No compromise. Protecting our watershed is not an environmental issue alone. It is a community health issue, a justice issue, and a legacy issue. Our children learn to see that connection and live it every day.

PILLAR THREE

Build the Green Economy From the Ground Up.

Net zero water. Net zero energy. Regenerative design. These are not concepts reserved for engineers and policy makers. They are the career pathways, entrepreneurial opportunities, and community solutions we are building into every age tier of our program, from a 3 year old learning to tend living soil to a 24 year old designing a net zero home. We are creating a green workforce and entrepreneur pipeline that opens pathways to collective prosperity, where the communities most impacted by environmental harm become the communities leading the solutions.

OUR COFOUNDERS

Kalin Joy and Derreon Broadie

The Roadie Broadies are not here to run a program. They are here to build something that lasts, with you, for the generation coming behind us all.

We are imperfect humans seeking the Kingdom of Yahuah (Jehovah), following Yeshua (Jesus), repenting daily, and taking seriously our call to tend the earth, love our neighbors, and serve our community. This is not a religious thang... it is a relationship.

With The Creator.

With the earth.

With each other.

We believe every family, every youth, and every community has everything they need to build something extraordinary. They just need soil, support, and people willing to show up alongside them.

That is why we built Our Children's Future. And that is why we want to hear from you.

Sending you love.

Let's build.
